Final fantasy iii psp or steam1/4/2023 ![]() ![]() The analog sticks feel very premium and superior to the sticks found on the Switch no contest. I had to buy silicon grips for the Switch. Compared to the Switch however, the Deck benefits from having those bezels and gets two more sets of rear buttons. Though I do think the GBA was pretty comfortable. Final fantasy iii psp or steam portable#I'd say it's the most comfortable portable system I have used. ![]() Yes it is heavier, but for the hardware inside it's actually quite comfortable. There was a number of concerns/questions from people regarding the weight of the system being heavier than the Switch. ![]() The Switch uses a Nvidia Tegra which we had seen in devices like the Shield which Nintendo even put games on in China. The rest as they say is history with the Switch having seen some of if not Nintendo's best sales not just in recent years, but even surpassing the Wii. Nintendo were creating a unified device that would function as both. No longer would you need to buy two versions of Smash like the 3DS and WiiU. Nintendo was merging it's portables with its home console. The reveal I would argue was as disrupting as what the Wii had been. They revealed their next system in the Switch presentation in January along with pricing and a release for March of 2017. BotW was still coming of course, but it looked like the WiiU was one foot in the grave. Nintendo had by this point seemed to scale back on the WiiU. Mobile today has a large presence but the games often feel like lesser experiences. For the longest time Nintendo were (and still are) the dominant figure in portable gaming. The PSP and Vita too would push gaming on a portable that bit further even if they fell short of the sales garnered by the 3DS. Even the failed WiiU felt like it was on the cusp of something though the Gamepad and streaming were limited. We saw other portables like the Gamegear, Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS. How many of us had grown up with a game boy? We've seen portable gaming change so much since the gray monochrome device that could take a bomb blast and somehow still work. I have put large sections into spoiler boxes to make it easier to jump to where you want to go. This is a rather long post, so read when you have time. I invite anyone who has a Switch, (especially those who own both a Deck and Switch, and in particular those who own an OLED to participate as well. There may be others who get a Deck later on and they are welcome to post here too. (Jman is still waiting on his deck, but when it arrives, he is welcome to share his experiences here as well). I won't be alone here in that I will be inviting fellow Deck users like, , and. Rather I hope it serves as an insightful look into the strengths and weaknesses of both, and where they fit in the market. I want this to be more than just a "SWITCH BAD, DECK GOOD" thread. As well as serve as a point of discussion around portable gaming in general. The idea of this thread is to serve as an open discussion for people to share their experiences with both devices. IntroWith the Steam Deck having been out for a few months now, I thought it was time to give a bit of a comparison of the two. ![]()
